When we first saw this house, we couldn't get the word "elevation" out of our minds. After all, it sits atop one of SunCrest's most elevated streets. The elevation - its position above both the Salt Lake and Utah valleys - is what affords some experiences you don't get just anywhere. Breakfasts here are served with sunrises over Mt. Timp and gorgeous views of Utah Lake. Dinner is paired with sunsets over the Great Salt Lake and twinkling city lights. Elevation has another meaning, though. In architectural terms, it's a flat view of one side of the home. We think every elevation strikes a stunning silhouette against the skyline. Architecturally speaking, however, there's even more to love on the inside. The 5500 square feet is laid out to take maximum advantage of an elevated lifestyle. Windows line the walls to capitalize on the home's unbeatable mountain setting. The gigantic chef's kitchen is complete with double ovens, in-counter gas cooktop, and beautiful thick slabs of granite. Best of all, the kitchen is the heart of the home and is flanked by the dining room and a pair of family rooms have taken "open concept" to new heights. We're confident it will handle any size party you're brave enough throw at it. Three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms are tucked quietly away if you need a break from the home's common areas. The master bedroom is not only a spacious retreat, but it's flooded with natural light and features sky high ceilings, double closets, dual vanities, a spa-like tub and shower, and a walkout (yep, we said walkout!) that leads to the open mountain air above the inversion and worry of life below.
What the Sellers Love
We have lived here for two years and, if not for a work related need to relocate, we would never leave! Simply put, we love our home and our neighborhood.
Although we have views of both the Utah and Salt Lake valleys, one of our favorite activities is to just spend an evening together in our family room, overlooking Lone Peak . As the sun sets, the peak often glows bright orange, pink, and red! It is also a unique experience to watch the storms roll in and feel cozy in front of the fireplace as our house sits in a cloud. We love to relax in our master bedroom and enjoy the glittering lights of the Salt Lake Valley. The natural light in our bathroom can't be beat-we may never find a better lit bathroom.
Our kitchen is definitely the heart and "control center" of our home. While cooking a meal, you can still feel a part of the gathering. The pantry is a dream (and a fun place to play, ask our toddler).
We also love enjoying the environment around our home. From our front door, access to the incredible trail network of Corner Canyon is just yards away (a quick down-hill roll). If you're a walker, hiker, runner, or mountain biker you'll be in heaven. The trails are great for all levels of activities from toddler walks to downhilling on a mountain bike. Our home is also just a short walk down to The Ridge restaurant and Suncrest community center (an excellent evening walk).
