UPDATE: This motion was denied. Weeks and Summerhays voted against council member Green’s motion to deny the proposal. Green, Lowery, and the Mayor voted to deny the proposal. The Mayor was a swing vote in the absence of council woman Vawdry.
The Draper City Council will review and vote August 21st at 7PM on a revised plan for the ~84 acres known as Mountain Park Estates aka “SunCrest Shoebox” parcel located east of Tallwoods and west of Eagle Crest subdivisions in SunCrest.
No public comments will be taken during this meeting.

- Elimination of all multi-family units.

Mountain Park Estates (SunCrest Shoebox) | Revised Proposal
Join the owners of the Mountain Park Estates Development tonight, March 8th from 6:30-8:30PM at the SunCrest Clubhouse as they present their proposed development modifications for SunCrest area land known as the SunCrest shoebox.
Modifications include:
- Removal of town homes; 20 foot non-disturbed areas along parcel property lines;
- Reduced disturbance and grading in existing Gamble Oak and other Non-disturbed Open Space areas;
- Increased preservation of areas with 30% or greater slopes; and noise study results for proposed on-site materials processing to reduce heavy truck traffic on existing SunCrest roads.
For those unable to attend, below is a preliminary proposal for the area. The owners plan to present to the Draper City Planning Commission on Aril 12th, 2018.

- 126 single family units with minimum lot size requirements ranging from .18-.23 acre.
- 24 total tri-plex and six-plex multi-family units.
- Nearly 6.5 acres of regional commercial
- Proposed parks and trails managed and maintained by a HOA.
- 35% open space
It’s important to note to that these plans are preliminary and are still being reviewed by Draper City. It will still need to go before the City Council for approval. This development is not currently a part of the SunCrest HOA and would need to be annexed should they decide to join.

UPDATE: The planning commission unanimously denied the proposal as presented at the October 12th meeting.
The Draper City Planning Commission is seeking public comment and will review the ~84 acres known as Mountain Park Estates aka “SunCrest Shoebox” parcel located East of Tallwoods and West of Eagle Crest subdivisions in SunCrest. Residents are encouraged to submit feedback to the city here or by speaking at the public meeting (Draper City Hall – 1020 E. Pioneer Road.) Full plan here.
The latest proposal outlines nearly 40% open space, a 7-acre monument park, clubhouse, and pool; in addition to 233 housing units (81 single family, 134 townhomes, 18 townhome/multifamily). Previous proposals for the area included commercial/office space, a school, and storage facility–all of which have now been eliminated.

On Monday August 14th from 6:30-7:30PM at the SunCrest Clubhouse, the owners of the ~84 acres known as the “SunCrest Shoebox” parcel located East of Tallwoods and West of Eagle Crest subdivisions in SunCrest will be holding a neighborhood meeting to review their upcoming proposal for the SunCrest area land. There will be a short presentation followed by a question and answer session.
