SunCrest Development – “Shoe box” proposed plan

SunCrest Development

Proposed plan for “Shoe Box” property—also known as the Michel Property.

Below is the proposed plan for the ~83 acre “shoe box” parcel located adjacent to the Tall Woods community. The plans include an elementary school, commercial buildings, storage facilities, high density and single family homes, a sledding hill, and ~33 acres of open space.

I would have thought that this area would have been zoned for single family residences given the properties that surround it. However, according to the Draper City zoning map, this area is zoned “Regional Commercial” which doesn’t allow for residential development. Are they asking for a zoning change? It looks like this proposal would create a giant “wall” of commercial buildings and town homes directly adjacent to existing homes in the Tall Woods subdivision.
