SunCrest Lifestyle Rebrand

By Scott Steadman / July 19, 2020 / 0 Comments

Since we started SunCrest Lifestyle in 2001, we’ve always tried to make it a place for you to find information about our community and the homes in it. It’s changed over the years, and we’ve recently made a few changes.

First, we completely redesigned our site here at SunCrestLifestyle.Com. We simplified the home page so community news is easier to see, and dedicated a page for our monthly SunCrest Market Update. We kept all the HOA information handy, and have added even better trail information, maps, and videos.

If you’re looking to find a house, we now have a full search feature that is even easier to use.

Offline, you may notice a new look to our For Sale sign in the yard – that’s still us! Finally, we freshened up the look of our flyers and postcards. We love hearing from all of you about the places you see us.

Thanks for all your support over the years. We’re excited to share our new look with you and look forward to seeing you around the community soon!

Thank You, First Responders

By Scott Steadman / June 30, 2020 / 0 Comments

What a weekend, SunCrest.

We are humbled and incredibly grateful for the countless number of first responders who quickly got to work on the #traversefire. Your dedication, sacrifice, hard work, and quick response is nothing short of amazing and we are continually appreciative of all that you do. THANK YOU!

We’re relieved that evacuation orders have been lifted and we can rest a little easier. While we are so thankful the fire wasn’t worse, it was an unfortunate reminder to us all how quickly things can spread and how careful and cautious we need to be. Stay safe and cautious out there.

Two Hollows Trail Highlight

By Scott Steadman / June 23, 2020 / 0 Comments

The Two Hollows Trail is a mellow, peaceful trail that canvasses the East side of the SunCrest area. It’s a double wide track that is great for groups, families, and kiddos. Horses are also able to use this trail and yes, dogs are permitted on leash – woof, woof!

Getting to the trail is pretty easy thanks to its multiple access points. Canyon Point Road in Hidden Canyon Estates, Winged Trace Court in Mercer Reserve. The Two Hollows trail is an “out and back” style trail which allows hikers to choose a distance that best matches their hiking preferences. The Two Hollows Trail also connects to Mercer Mountain, Mercer Hollow, Fango, Hog Hollow, and Pork-U-Pine. If you’re up for an adventure, you’ve definitely got options here!

This trail features unobstructed views of the Mt. Timpanogos, Highland and Alpine City, and the Traverse Mountain Wilderness range. While hiking, keep an eye out for wildlife – deer, porcupine, and even an occasional Moose (yep, MOOSE!) in the less busier months. Expect to see dogs on leash (don’t forget yours!), hikers, bikers, families, and wildflowers. Most of the trail is exposed so sunscreen and water are recommended. Tip: This is a great trail for running!

We can’t wait to see your adventures! Be sure to share your pictures by tagging us @suncrestlifestyle.

June SunCrest Market Update

By Scott Steadman / June 11, 2020 / 0 Comments

Having a great real estate professional on your team when buying or selling a house can be a huge help, and can save you loads of stress, hassle, headache, and money. But how do you hire a Realtor? We always recommend interviewing an agent before hiring them, and below are a few sample questions to consider in the interview process.

What’s your experience in the industry?
While tenure in the industry may be an important factor to consider, think about continuing education. Ongoing trainings, mentorships, and professional involvement are critical to an agent’s continued success and longevity. To be licensed, a real estate agent needs just over a hundred hours of coursework, but there is no minimum education, vocational training, or on the job experience requirement. Understanding how an agent is staying active, involved, and educated in the field will help you understand how your values may align.

What’s your experience in the neighborhood?
Neighborhoods have stories to tell and it’s important they are told right. People buy into communities just as much as they do the individual home. We recommend asking about real-life experience in your area and their ability to service it. Agents who know the neighborhood and its nearby amenities, schools, and attractions will much more effectively sell a home, and much more earnestly help you buy your own.

What’s included in your services?
From pre-listing activities, price guidance, a Multiple Listing Service posting, contract negotiations and management, and general advice (to name a few), there’s no standard model for “what’s included” and many agents, teams, and brokerages vary. Understanding what’s included ahead of time can potentially eliminate surprises down the road.

Where and how will my home be marketed?
In the past 20 years, real estate has gone from paper printouts to 3D tours. Every agent will have a different strategy for marketing their clients’ homes, so you’ll want to know exactly how your agent plans to find buyers for your home. Local, domestic, international. Print, digital, and social media. Open houses and virtual walkthroughs. Know their plan, and ask why they believe it’s right for your home.

In your own words, why should we hire you?
This is a good open ended question that allows the agents you’re interviewing to answer how they feel best. Take note of how they answer and what they say. Does it align with your goals and timing? In most cases, you’ll be working regularly with your agent on what is most people’s biggest purchase of their life, so you want to make sure you can work well together.

Our Take
It’s up to you to find the right real estate agent, and the more prepared you are when you decide to interview them, the better. Take the time to figure out what you want from your agent, and find the right fit to help guide you through the process from start to finish.

Alien Tower Trail Highlight

By Scott Steadman / May 28, 2020 / 0 Comments

The Deer Ridge Off Leash Area, more commonly referred to as the Alien Tower Trail, is one of the most popular trails to hike in SunCrest. It is a wide trail that makes it great for groups, families, kiddos, and the majority of the hike is a designated off leash area – perfect for your furry friends.

The trail starts at approximately 15215 S. Deer Ridge Drive. It’s pretty easy to find and accommodates plenty of parking. The trail is an “out and back” style trail which allows hikers to choose a distance that best matches their hiking preferences. The most popular destination is hiking to the triangulation tower aka the “Alien Tower” which features 360 degrees of Salt Lake County, Utah County, and the entire SunCrest neighborhood. At the peak, the elevation is just over 6,500 feet.

While hiking up, keep an eye out for wildlife – deer, porcupine, and even an occasional coyote in the less busier months. Expect to see dogs both on and off leash (don’t forget yours!), hikers, bikers, families, wildflowers and of course those coveted SunCrest views. Most of the trail is exposed and it can be a little windy at the peak so be sure to plan accordingly. Sunscreen, water, and a jacket are recommended. Tip: be sure to check back in the winter months, it’s a great snowshoeing trail.

We can’t wait to see your adventures! Be sure to share your pictures by tagging us @suncrestlifestyle.

May SunCrest Market Update

By Scott Steadman / May 18, 2020 / 0 Comments

Maximizing your outdoor space

People love to come to SunCrest for the clean air, the gorgeous views of the mountains, and to recreate, energize and rejuvenate in nature. When it comes to our homes, adding a functional outdoor exterior patio, deck or entertaining space can become an extension of your home and weave the outdoors and indoors together – a perfect compliment to the SunCrest Lifestyle.

Utah receives about 300 days of sunshine a year. Expanding our living spaces into our yards allows us to create specific areas to make memories, gather with family and friends, or find a quiet respite from our busy lives.

Through the use of adding things like visual screenings in our landscapes, cooking stations, gatherings spaces, placement of comfortable furniture and other design elements, we can improve not only the value of our homes but our quality of life in our SunCrest homes.

Our Take
There’s nothing like a SunCrest sunrise or sunset. Maximizing your outdoor space to compliment one of the many views that SunCrest offers is not only a fun and relaxing way to spend your time living here, but outdoor spaces are common “must haves” on buyers wish lists. Considering an update? We’d love to share our opinion on what’s trending.
